What a day! Checking Wal-Mart for the past few days paid off – they had more L’Oreal Man Expert Shaving Cream trial sizes in stock so thought I would use my last 4 coupons since I already had them printed. They also had the 10 packs of Advil Cold and Sinus in stock too. Picked up a couple things at Shoppers Drug Mart too. I think this is starting to become a bit of a problem… I can’t stay out of the stores and stop looking for good prices! I think I should be good for a while though. I would love to see another Dove sale but otherwise I have used most of the coupons I wanted to. I say that now though… haha.
It really is hard to say no to something when you are only paying tax. Today I got Listerine Whitening plus Restoring, Advil Cold and Sinus and L’Oreal Man Expert Shaving Cream all for pretty much FREE – I only had to pay the tax, but the overage even helped cover some of the taxes.

I have done mail in rebates in the past but nothing like this really – usually its for a computer part I am already buying. I saw people talking about the Physicians Formula mail in rebates online and thought I would give it a shot. It took a bit of looking to find the eligible product I wanted: Physicians Formula Organic wear Jumbo Lash Mascara in Ultra Black. Some of the Physicians Formula mail in rebates are full price and some are partial prices – the mascara is full. I wanted to try it with the mascara since it is a product I always use and wouldn’t be too upset if I didn’t the rebate. Although I usually buy mascara for less then half the price. I figured I would give it a try.
To get your rebate the product MUST HAVE the pink rebate sticker.
*fingers crossed* my rebate comes. While I was dropping my my rebate in the mail I found the Physicians Formula Eye Booster 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner + Serum in black with the rebate sticker. I decided to buy it and give it a try too. I can’t believe how expensive these products are; looking forward to trying them out!
I am pretty sure today was my best shopping trip yet. It wasn’t the biggest savings wise but I feel like I got some pretty good prices and on some food items. So far I have only been getting toiletries and cleaning supplies so it was nice to get something we can eat! It was a bunch of processed foods, like cookies and crackers but these are going to come in handy over the holidays. I am really excited about today’s trip – seems like a weird thing to be excited about?
Most of the coupons were inside the What’s Cooking Magazine found inside my Kraft Samplicious Box – so unless my post says otherwise, that is where I get the coupon from. I did my shopping at Save on Foods, everything I bought was card price PLUS I got to use an in store coupon, save $5 when you buy 5 Kraft products. The store I went to didn’t actually have any of the new coupons but they let me use an old one that they found. Awesome customer service!

What’s Cooking Magazine
When I ordered it I wasn’t expecting the magazine to be anything great and wonderful but it actually had some coupons inside. They are only good until the 25th but I manged to use a couple today on top of another in store coupon and got some pretty good prices. Post coming after this.
Third time is the charm. I have tried to do this stack three times now and finally had some luck. I guess this was actually my fourth time – I had two stacks of coupons to get two free Scrubbing Bubbles 1 Step Toilet Kit. The first time went great – they took $10 off the $9.98 price – no problems or questions asked.
Trying to get my second free one is when things went downhill. First try, I went to a different Save on Foods and was told they don’t stack. Second try, I was back in the Save On Foods where I got the first, I was told I couldn’t use my coupons because my coupon value exceeded the price of the product.
Today I was back in the same Save on Foods where I got the first one and was turned away because my coupon value was too high. Today they took my coupons, didn’t say a word and price adjusted it down 2 cents. Still find it so weird how every cashier is so different. One took them and gave me the full $10, one wouldn’t take them and told me they couldn’t get adjusted and the third adjusted them down to $9.98. All in the same store.
Anyway, I have my Scrubbing Bubbles now and I can stop looking and trying. Also, on sale I found a pretty cheap Schick Quattro for Women TrimStyle – thought I would try it out! This is the shaver I normally use, so I already have the blades. Figure it can’t hurt.
Save on Foods
1 x Scrubbing Bubbles 1 Step Toilet Kit $9.98 – 2 x different $5.00 from inserts (price adjusted to $9.98) = FREE
1 x Schick Quattro for Women TrimStyle $12.99 – $8 Save on More Card Price = $4.99
Busy day today! Have a few posts to make but first I am going to start with Bath and Body works since it was my first stop of the morning.
I LOVE Bath and Body Works – even love isn’t a strong enough word for how much I enjoy their products. Pretty much all the employees recognize me when I walk in the door. I had to go for the free gift – I picked up some Christmas gifts while I was there so it was okay. ;) Christmas gifts and a free gift for me? Something like that.
This offer was today only from 10am-3pm – you got the free gift with any home fragrance purchase.
Bath and Body Works tote tote, Wallflower Nightlight Starter, Single Bulb and Scentportable!
Pretty excited. Some good stocking stuffers or for me…
After Bath and Body Works we went to Costco, just for the regular food and stuff but scored a free roll of toilet paper sample – pretty awesome right? Who doesn’t love free toilet paper?
I am just not meant to get more free Scrubbing Bubbles. This is the same stack I tried to do last night at the Save On Foods that does not allow stacking – this time I found the Scrubbing Bubbles 1 Step Toilet Kit at the same Save On Foods that I did the EXACT same stack at on a few days ago. Except this time they couldn’t do the stack because my coupons were worth 2 cents more then the product.
I understand there are policies and rules and all that but shouldn’t the same store at least follow the same rules? It seems to me couponing is like gambling – will the store take my coupons today or won’t they. Hold your breath, am I going to win today? Did I pick the right cashier? It seems to be more up to the cashiers and if they care if they follows the rules on that particular day. I just find it frustrating and embarrassing when you have to tell them you don’t want what you are buying then. I feel like I am being judged or something. I am always polite, I know they are doing their job I just wish they would all follow the same rules – makes it easier to know what I can and can not do.
Turned down for Scrubbing Bubbles for two days in a row. Doesn’t look like I will be getting anymore free – I am running out of stores to try and stock is hard to find.
Back to reading coupon policies. According to both the London Drugs and the Save on Foods coupon policies, neither will accept coupons that exceed the amount of the product. How come so many people get away with this and so often? Seriously confused.
Went into the Real Canadian Superstore and found some Advil Cold and Sinus 10 count in stock for $4.29 – with the Superstore in store coupon for $4.00 it works out to just $0.29 plus tax. Due to the wording on the coupon I was only able to pick up one. I completely forgot about the fact that I had tear pads in my purse – I probably could of got more but all well.
Like usual, there were huge line ups and it took more then 10 minutes to get through the express line at Superstore. I don’t even know why I bother. Sure I got some Advil Cold and Sinus for 32 cents after tax (she only charged me tax on 29 cents) – but I only got one pack and stood in line forever and had to deal with their horrible store and snotty cashiers. One of these days I will realize there is no deal worth going into our Superstore for.
I just assumed that all Save On Foods would be the same in their coupon policies. I am not sure why I though this but anyway it is not true and I found it out the embarrassing way… or the hard way however you want to look at it.
I have already coupon sacked at 2/3 Save On Foods and 1/2 London Drugs here in town – like I said, I figured if one did they all did. Was at that third Save On Foods tonight and they had something I had been looking for to stack and get free – the Scrubbing Bubbles One Step Toilet Kit and now I know why it was still there! hah
I didn’t end up getting it and I was kind of embarrassed about the whole thing but it was my own fault. I just didn’t realize that each store in a chain would have that different of policies. Lesson learned, always check the coupon policies for EACH INDIVIDUAL store.
Thankfully I don’t typically shop at that Save On Foods and is it the farthest from me – I just happened to be in there.
Of course after I got home I googled and read the policy and saw that it is different from store to store. Hopefully this helps someone else from making the same mistake I did – call your local store and check if they allow coupon stacking before you go!
Yes, I was in Wal-Mart again this evening – almost starting to feel like I live there. I was getting some more FREE L’Oreal Man Expert shaving cream in trial sizes. Thankfully Wal-Mart is close to my house. I don’t wanna clear the store all in one go so I have been going back to get 5-6 every couple days. They seem to keep re-stocking too so that is nice.
Tonight I picked up 6 of the trials sizes and two of the regular ones. I decided it was best to get 1 regular size for every 3 trial sizes to use the overage. Some of my overage even covered some of the tax – was surprised to see that, guess I miss judged how much I was going to have.
This is my highest savings yet. I honestly didn’t think I would see a savings higher then 89% because of tax, unless of course I was getting a tax free item. I didn’t even think that overage would apply to tax.
I also got a couple things in the mail from brandSAVER – it was the same as a got last week – but no shaver, not sure where this one came from. An accidental duplicate or if this or the other one was the Costco one… no idea, but free is free! It had some single use packets of dawn, gain and toothpaste. As well as a two pack of Cascade Allin1 Packs. There was also some Crest and Pantene coupons.
