December Loose Button Luxe Box Review

At first I was pretty disappointed with this month’s Luxe Box, well I guess I still kind of am. At first glance it looks really great and full of nice size products and it is, but this is what got me.

The Moroccanoil stuff was to make up for sending out an expired product last month – that I am going to use anyway. It doesn’t really go bad.

From the email Loose Button sent out:

As a token of our appreciation and to compensate for any inconvenience this may have caused to you, we are sending you a Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray and a special something in your next box, as a replacement for the expired Hydrating Styling Cream.

It was nice to see a full size product in the box, but really it’s only a basic $4 eye liner. And two perfume samples? Did they really need to send two? These are like the ones you get free in the drug store. The face cream looks nice and according to a card in the box it is worth $41 for the sample size. To me it feels like all I really got was a $4 eye liner and a face cream (thought expensive!) since the Moroccanoil was a “bonus” for the screw up last month and the perfume samples are free most places.

DDF Advanced Firming Cream 14g (full size 48g $140)
Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray 75ml (full size 300ml $24)
Moroccanoil Moisture Repair Shampoo 70ml (full size 240ml $22)
Moroccanoil Moisture Repair Conditioner 70ml (full size 240ml $21)
Nina Ricci L’Air du Temps Perfume 1.2ml (full size 50ml $72)
Nina Ricci Nina Fragrance 1.2ml (full size 50ml $65)
NYX Slim Eye Pencil Black full size 1g $4
Belgian Chocolate

The box was still nice, and I will keep my subscription (read a lot of people cancelling on Facebook) but it was a bit disappointing. After looking on their Facebook some people got worse and some people got a lot better – it seems like if you pay for a year in advance you get better boxes. Not sure what to think about that.

I think the November Luxe Box was actually better – I would of thought the special “Holiday Edition” box would had more “WOW” – maybe my expectations were too high? Probably.

I honestly haven’t tried anything for the November box, this one or my Glymm box yet! I need to get on that ASAP. Not sure what I am waiting for. The point is to try this stuff! I did smell it at least. The Moroccanoil stuff smells nice and the perfumes aren’t bad – like the Nina one better the other one is a little floral. And I do use black eye liner all the time – hopefully it goes on nice.

I’ve been a client since Feb and recently signed up for a full year and I did not get a better box. In fact, mine was worse. Mine was measly with two tiny samples of Paco Rabanne which were only half full, an NYX eyeliner, a small sample of Yves Rocher shower gel, and an Yves Rocher lipstick. The lipstick retails for $5 and the eyeliner for $4. Not what I’d call luxe or a holiday special box.

I got a terrible December box too. I am giving them one last chance in January. Otherwise there are others…glossybox is available in Canada now.

I thought NYX eyeliner was just a couple bucks?? NCX is the eyeliner you wanna get in a beauty box, i think! (I have a long white NYX and no sharpener..) But I learned about NCX on or well her youtube channel anyways! I just hear about the american sites and found your beauty box thread while looking for a voucher code.. btw the glossybox code didn’t work!
