What’s Cooking Magazine
When I ordered it I wasn’t expecting the magazine to be anything great and wonderful but it actually had some coupons inside. They are only good until the 25th but I manged to use a couple today on top of another in store coupon and got some pretty good prices. Post coming after this.
Busy day today! Have a few posts to make but first I am going to start with Bath and Body works since it was my first stop of the morning.
I LOVE Bath and Body Works – even love isn’t a strong enough word for how much I enjoy their products. Pretty much all the employees recognize me when I walk in the door. I had to go for the free gift – I picked up some Christmas gifts while I was there so it was okay. ;) Christmas gifts and a free gift for me? Something like that.
This offer was today only from 10am-3pm – you got the free gift with any home fragrance purchase.
Bath and Body Works tote tote, Wallflower Nightlight Starter, Single Bulb and Scentportable!
Pretty excited. Some good stocking stuffers or for me…
After Bath and Body Works we went to Costco, just for the regular food and stuff but scored a free roll of toilet paper sample – pretty awesome right? Who doesn’t love free toilet paper?
Went into the Real Canadian Superstore and found some Advil Cold and Sinus 10 count in stock for $4.29 – with the Superstore in store coupon for $4.00 it works out to just $0.29 plus tax. Due to the wording on the coupon I was only able to pick up one. I completely forgot about the fact that I had tear pads in my purse – I probably could of got more but all well.
Like usual, there were huge line ups and it took more then 10 minutes to get through the express line at Superstore. I don’t even know why I bother. Sure I got some Advil Cold and Sinus for 32 cents after tax (she only charged me tax on 29 cents) – but I only got one pack and stood in line forever and had to deal with their horrible store and snotty cashiers. One of these days I will realize there is no deal worth going into our Superstore for.
Happened to be at Wal-Mart today and they had more L’Oreal Man Expert samples in stock so I got 5 more. I used my 6th coupon on a full size bottle and used my overage to pay for the difference and something else I needed. OOP I paid 3.55 and saved $18.
I also went back to London Drugs and got another Scrubbing Bubbles Soap Scum cleaner for $1.99 and a free bottle of fantastic. Same thing I did yesterday. I should’ve just got it when I was there but I didn’t think I needed it then decided I might as well and my coupons expire in two days. I paid $2.79 and saved $4.69.
Starting to see how this easily gets out of hand and how people ends up with so much stuff. Starting to think maybe I am going over board. But another way to look at it is I spent the cost of one bottle of the Scrubbing Bubbles Soap Scum Cleaner and got two and two bottles of fantastic. I would of bought that one bottle anyway – I use it often.
The Scrubbing Bubbles Extend-A-Clean is a bit of a different story – I may not have bought that, haven’t seen it before – but I got 8 bottles (4 and 4 refills) for the less than the price of one.
Anyway, I am very well stocked in cleaning supplies now. I did try out the Extend-A-Clean yesterday and it seems to use a lot in one go. Might be for the best I have 10 bottles haha.
I didn’t bother posting a photo and breakdowns today since I have posted about both of these in the past few days.
First up I found this really super BUILT Lunch Tote in French Bull Vine / Raspberry Sorbet colour… or should I say flavor? I don’t think the name gets any better then that either. I love Raspberry Sorbet and French Bull dogs! hah – I am a nerd, I know.
I found it on a clearance table at one of our local Staples. They had a couple and two different styles marked down to $9.97 from $19.99 on top of that they had 50% off. It came to $5.58 after tax.
My next find was cute cupcake cups at Dollarama – $1 for 60 cupcake wrappers is pretty reasonable. They are nice quality and the store had a lot of different designs. I had a really hard time limiting myself to just 3. I noticed they are a Dollarama product so I hope they always have them in stock.
Seriously way to excited about last night’s find at Walmart.
They had packs of Scrubbing Bubble Bath Power Sprayer with a BONUS refill for $6.00. The refill is the same size as a regular one it just doesn’t have the spray piece. Funny because the one regular one on it’s own was over $8.00. Anyway the two bottles were $6.00 but I had a coupon from last weeks SmartSource insert to save $5.00 off the Scrubbing Bubbles Bath Power Sprayer Starter! To make it even better some REALLY NICE person left behind their coupon they were not going to use. So I was able to get TWO packages for only $1.00 each. I was so excited. It kinda makes up for not getting my paper with the inserts – thankfully my Mom saved me hers.
I also picked up a bottle of Franks hot sauce and used my $1.00 off webSaver coupon (no longer available). It wasn’t any awesome price or anything but I love Franks so saving $1 is better then nothing. I wish Costco would bring it back, so much cheaper that way.
2 x Scrubbing Bubble Bath Power Sprayer with a BONUS refill $6.00 – $5.00 from SmartSource insert = $1.00 each
1 x Franks Red Hot Sauce $5.97 – $1.00 from webSaver (no longer available) = $4.97
Let me start this by saying I already hate the Real Canadian Superstore for many reasons and today’s experience was just the cherry on top of the icing on the cake. This was actually only my third trip in the store in at least the past year.
I went into Superstore just because I knew they had coupons. I noticed that a lot of their coupons are in store only. After quick Google search I read on mrsjanuary.com that Superstore does not allow coupon stacking – but you can combine an in store coupon with a manufacturer coupon according to the site. I thought I would try one before getting too carried away. Superstore had some different in store Dove coupons and I have a couple different manufacturers coupons from tear pads.
All Dove products were $2.99. They had a in store coupon for $1.50 off a Dove hair product and I had another for $2.00 off any 2 products – making it $0.49 plus tax each. I went up to the till with my two bottles of shampoo and the girl didn’t even think twice. She rang it all in and I paid $1.34 for the two bottoms of shampoo.
I thought it was pretty awesome, so I went back and got two more bottles of shampoo, two men’s body wash and two men’s deodorant. The bottles of shampoo should of been the same 49 cents while the men’s products would of been 99 cents. Went back to the till to find huge lines everywhere. When I finally got up to the till I put my products down and handed her the coupons. She immediately flipped them over and goes you can’t do this, this says “one coupon per person.” I tried to explain that they were all different and some were in store and others were not. She said it didn’t matter – I could only use one coupon and I couldn’t combine them. I politely told her I didn’t want the items and that I would shop at a store that would accept my coupons. She really didn’t seem overly impressed with me – almost like she was juding me for trying to use some coupons. Honestly, why should I pay $2.99 when I only need to spend 99 cents? That is a savings of $12.00 on six items.
I have enough other coupons that I can still get the men’s products for 99 cents at Save on Foods. They also happen to have the Dove products on for $2.99 – I just can’t get the regular Dove products or the 49 cent shampoo. Maybe I am not extreme enough, but saving that extra little bit is not worth fighting with the people on the till. Or standing in HUGE line ups only to be rejected.
After Superstore I went over to Walmart and used some Hanes coupons on some clearance products. At first she didn’t want to accept my coupons either saying they didn’t accept photocopies. I told her they were printed off the website – after talking with someone she decide she could them.
2x Dove Shampoo $2.99 – 2 x $1.50 in store coupon & $2 off 2 products = $0.49 each
This seems like a lot of fun to me, you pay $9.99 + tax for shipping (my total was $11.14) and Kraft sends you a box of 15 new products to try (plus a magazine). Works out to $0.74 a product – not including the What’s Cooking Magazine.
The box will contain 12 products and 3 coupons to get the refrigerated products from your local stores.
My first day with a blog and I already have some cool things to post. Well they are cool for me.
Today during our lunch break my friend/coworker and I walked down to the local Shoppers Drug Mart to browse. While down there we manged to find a couple decent deals to try out our newb couponing skills.
I have only tried my hand in couponing two or three other times – so this really is new to me. I am not really interested in building a stock pile and taking up half my house with stuff I will never use all of. If there is a good deal and it is something we use I might buy a few (guess it depends how long said item lasts) – but I don’t want to store and move this stuff around for the rest of my life. Stuff will always go on sale and there will always be coupons – I really don’t need to fill my house with enough supplies to open a store.
On to today’s find:
1 x U by Kotex Tampons (18’s) @ $2.99 – $1.50 coupon = $1.49
1 x U by Kotex Liners (18’s – trial size) @ 1.99 – $1.50 coupon = $0.49
1 x L’Oréal Studio Hair Paste @ 2.99 – $2.00 coupon from tear pads = $0.99
I never in all my life would of though I would one day upload a photo of feminine hygiene products on the internet. Kinda weird.
When I came home from work today I had TWO freebies waiting for me. Two incredibly AWESOME freebies might I add. This doesn’t happy often or ever, especially like this. Perfect timing for the new blog. Super excited to try these out.
La Roche-Posay Toleriane Ultra 40ml
Tassimo Gevalia Dark House Blend T DISCs (12)
Both of these products came from Facebook offers. The La Roche-Posay Toleriane Ultra came from their Facebook page – you had to tell them about your sensitive skin and they picked 1000 people to receive the product.
As for the Tassimo Gevalia Dark House Blend T DISCs – you simply had to be the first of so many people to like their Facebook page (and fill out the form) to receive the T DISCs. Pretty sweet – I was expecting one to try not a full package of 12! Super awesome and packaged so nicely.
Looking forward to trying both of these products out!
