Last Luxe Box – June 2012

I started writing this post over two weeks ago – guess it is about time I finished it.

This is the last monthly Loose Button Luxe Box – June 2012. Starting in the fall Loose Button will start sending out quarterly boxes. I had actually already cancelled my Luxe Box subscription before I found this out and am happy I did. So on top of this being the last monthly Luxe Box it is also my last one.

Funny enough this was actually one of the better Luxe Boxes I have received. Not the best but pretty good. Three full size products and worth over $80 – the bonus mirror was a really nice touch. Almost everything in this box will be given away though – but I still thought it was a nice box. A girlfriend needed a top coat and I have lots. My little sister LOVES these nail polish strips and I don’t really have a use for $60 eye cream but it could make a good stocking stuffer for my Mom.

Anyway, I was impressed with this box but a little too late in my opinion. I am interested to see what the quarterly boxes will look like but I don’t really have a desire to subscribe to them.

Last Luxe Box - June 2012

- Olay Professional PRO-X Eye Restoration Complex full size 15mL $60
- OPI Top Coat full size 15mL $9.00
- Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips full size 16 strips $10.00
- L’Oréal Professionnel Mythic Oil 3mL (full size 125mL $24)
- BONUS: Olay Compact Mirror

May 2012 Luxe Box Review

Happy that this box made it in time this month. I am not sure how much longer I will continue with my Loose Button Luxe Box’s. The May box was actually really good – but I am just not a huge fan of their customer service anymore. I find it disappointing that they ship so late. They don’t give any updates on their Facebook and they turned their wall off. According to the member area all boxes were supposed to ship by the 25th, but my friend’s didn’t ship until the 28th. I just feel like Loose Button is starting to go downhill – much like Glymm did.

But the May box was really good and totally worth it. I did see a lot of other reviews were people got a hot pink Essie nail polish – I was really hoping for that because it looks amazing – I might have to go pick one up!

There were two boxes this month, a regular Luxe Box and a Bath and Body Box. Similar to the Janaury box.

May 2012 Luxe Box Review

- CARGO lip Gloss Quad full size $25
- Kerastase Masque Chroma Riche 30 ml (full size 200 ml $57)
- Philosophy Purity Made Simple 30 ml (full size 237 ml $28)
- Taylor Swift Wonderstuck 10 ml (full size 50 ml $63)
- Amazing Grace Eau De Parfum 1.5 ml (full size 60 ml $65)

In the Bath and Body box:
- Olay Regenerist Wrinkle Revolution Complex 7 ml
- Gillette Venus & Olay Razor and Five-Blade Cartridge

More perfume. *sigh* I was at least happy to see another roll on one, really like this style of perfume sample. Not overly crazy about the smell – a little too strong and thick for my taste; I really like nice light and fresh scents. But more little tubes… seriously, I could open a perfume sample store! I don’t even know what to do with these anymore – a girl can only have so many and I probably have 10-15 now.

The CARGO lip Gloss Quad looks pretty awesome. I really am starting to get such a huge collection of lip glosses – guess a girl can never have too many though! At least not this girl, I have been obsessed with lip products for as long as I can remember.

CARGO lip Gloss Quad

Happy with the other items as well – some of this stuff might be handy to pack for the Honeymoon that we just booked to Mexico! I am terrible for using up these samples so hopefully I can put some to good use.

I figure the box to be worth $50+ – I am too tired to do the exact math. Pretty good I think. But my collection of samples really is getting too large – how does everyone else manage to use them all up?

There was also a promo code for $20 off a pantybypost.com subscription but I don’t see myself using it. The promo code is loosebutton20 for anyone interested in ordering. It expires June 30, 2012.

April 2012 Loose Button Luxe Box

Finally – my last beauty box post and I am done catching up on my blog posts. phew. Now I just need to stay on top of these posts.

Another disappointing box for the month of April – not that it even came in April. I didn’t get my April Luxe Box until May 3.

I was able to get a pair of panties for my first in line item. I thought that was really neat – and they came fast, a few days before my Luxe Box even arrived. They were really cute too. I think the pantybypost.com is a neat idea – might be a fun gift for someone.

April 2012 Loose Button Luxe Box

Panty By Post (single panty $12-$30)
Seche Ridge Filling Base Coat 3.6 ml (full size 15 ml $7)
BioSilk Silk Therapy 15 ml (full size 260 ml $55)
Pantene Pro-V Aqua Light Shampoo + Conditioner 50 ml each (full size 375 ml $6 each)

The panties totally made the box worth it but everything else was kind of meh. The Pantene Pro-V smells good – but not really a deluxe sample in my books. At least they actually got this sample right and gave us more then one use – but these are sometimes free in the P&G Brandsampler packs.

I am looking forwarding to trying the Seche Ridge Filling Base Coat – this will be handy for me. I don’t own a base coat and have been too cheap to buy one. With summer almost here it is toe nail painting season, I am sure this product will get some use.

I do love BioSilk Silk Therapy but I have a large bottle already. Not Loose Buttons fault though. I guess this box just felt a bit disappointing when I opened it because I had already got the panties so the box seemed kind of empty. Looking back now it actually wasn’t that bad.

Loose Button March 2012 Luxe Box

This is seriously way too late and I haven’t even tried anything in this box yet. Terrible, I know. I really should probably just stop the subscriptions and stop signing up for more (yes I have signed up for more – I have a problem!)

So since this is so late, I really won’t go in to detail as I am just trying to play some blog catch up and want to share what I got for anyone looking.

Loose Button March 2012 Luxe Box

- Cargo Glitter Top Coat (full size $18)
- Cargo LashActivator Mascara (full size $35)
- J.R Watkins Hand & Body Lotion in Lavender 29ml (full size 325ml $10)

Loose Button – MyScent
- CK one Shock for Her 1.2ml (full size 50ml $45)
- Vera Wang Lovestruck 1.2ml (full size 50ml $79)
- Marc Jacobs OH, LOLA! 1.2ml (full size 50ml $79)

I am unsure of the value of this month’s box because I do not know if the Cargo products are full size / what the sizes are. But regardless I really loved this month’s box. I enjoy getting makeup to try – even if I haven’t try it yet. I do LOVE the smell of the lavender J.R Watkins Hand & Body Lotion – it reminds me of spa and I love the smell of lavender. Have a feeling I will really enjoy this lotion. Getting a little sick of all the perfume samples, seriously – what am I ever supposed to do with all these?

February Loose Button Luxe Box Review

I got my February Luxe Box on Monday and am really happy with it. I loved all the samples in it, especially the perfume – never thought I would say that.

Loose Button teamed up with Flare for this box – the box was complete with Flare issue paper. The box was also a nice limited edition red colour. Very fancy.

February Loose Button Luxe Box Review

Benefit Sun Beam 2.5ml (full size 13ml $30)
CK One Shock for Her 10ml (full size 50ml $45 & 100ml $65)
Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant 13g (full size 75g $72)
Redken Color Extend Shampoo and Conditioner (3 of each) 10ml each (full size 300ml shampoo $15 & 250ml conditioner $17)

I like the Benefit Sun Beam – it does give a nice glow but it wasn’t overly noticeable. Think I need to try it a few more times before I would decide if I was going to buy it. I really like the idea and sound of it though, could see myself buying it or something similar.

CK One Shock for Her – I really love this sample. I wouldn’t say it is my favourtie smelling perfume but it is really nice and it doesn’t seem to bother me. What I really love is the size and style of this sample. Really LOVE the roll on style perfume – awesome for keeping in my purse. It is also a really nice size at 10ml. I would totally pay for this product just like this – wonder if I will be able to find it in stores. I was pretty disappointed with the perfume in the last two boxes and was hoping there wouldn’t be anymore in this month’s – but I am surprised to say I think this is my favourite sample in the box. If I were to see more perfume samples in future boxes I really would like to see them like this one. Two thumbs up!

I have tried the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant or Redken Color Extend Shampoo and Conditioner yet. I have heard really great things about the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant – it is a dry product so I think it would be really handy for traveling. Same goes for the Redken Color Extend Shampoo and Conditioner – very nice for a weekend away. I am currently using Joico K-Pax Shampoo and Conditioner so no real need to rush to try this. I think it is fantastic that they included 3 packages rather then just one, gives you more of a chance to decide if you like it.

The value of this month’s box was a little over $30. :)

There was also a promo code in the box for $25 off $75 at DEALUXE – don’t see myself using this though.

Looking around I see some other people got different samples that looked pretty nice too but I am really happy with mine. All of them are something I wouldn’t of bought for myself and I am excited about all of them. I never would of thought to try a product like the Benefit Sun Beam – it is nice and fun to try something new.

My Luxe Box continues to amaze me and I really enjoy receiving it. I hope my February Glymm Box is here soon – will get that review up once it arrives.

If anyone is thinking about signing up for a Luxe Box by Loose Button I would love if you could use my link. I am one sign up short from a free box. :D

January Luxe Box Review

The January Luxe Box was a little bit late – they had sent out an email explaining it would be last due to problems out of their control (companies not sending the samples fast enough) but they upgraded everyone to express shipping. It came pretty fast once it shipped. I got it last week but I am in a bit behind in my posting. It was well worth the wait. OMG! My best Luxe Box yet and better than January’s Glymm Box.

First of all I noticed the box this month seemed a little bigger than normal and when I opened it up I found…

January Luxe Box Review

Not one, but TWO Luxe Boxes! I was almost squealing with delight. Okay, Okay I was.

The first box opened was the white one, it was a Bath and Body Luxe Box.

January Luxe Box Review - White Box

Schick Hydro Silk 5 Blade Razor (retail $13.99)
Fekkai Olive Oil Shampoo & Conditioner Packs
Coupons ($4.00 of any Schick Hydro Refill, $0.55 off any Skinmate Shave Gel, 8000 (worth $10) Shoppers Drug Mart Bonus Points when you buy any Fekkai Hair Care Product)

I haven’t tried any of the things from the Bath and Body box yet, but I know they are going to be amazing – especially the Schick Hydro Silk 5 Blade Razor. Really looking forward to trying it.

Box 2 – Regular Luxe Box

January Luxe Box Review - Black Box

Yves Rocher Rouge Dragee Lipstick full size 3.5g $5
Benefit Farenheit Fab full size 4.5g $19
Chi Silk Fusion 15ml (full size 180ml $33)
Seattle’s Best Coffee Level Three (BONUS) 56g (full size 340g $9.99)

Loose Button – MyScent
- Prada Candy 1.5ml (full size 50ml $96)
- Prada Infusion d’Iris 1.5ml (full size 50ml $95)
- Nina Ricci L’Air du Temps 1.2ml (full size 50ml $72)
- Nina Ricci Nina 1.2ml (full size 50ml $65)
- Paco Rabanne Black XS for Her 1.2ml (full size 50ml $65)
- Paco Rabanne Lady Million 1.2ml (full size 50ml $80)

Two full size products worth a combined value of $24 – twice the price of my Luxe Box subscription. Totally awesome. The Benefit Farenheit Fab was part of their First In Line Program. Basically they sent out an email with 4 things and told you to pick the one you hoped to see in your Luxe Box. You got to pick from:
- Donna Karan – Cashmere Mist Body Cleansing Lotion
- Benefit – POWda WOWza
- Curly Hair Solution – Curl Keeper Total Control for Frizzy Hair
- Benefit – Fahrenheit Fab – Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow & Liner

I saw some people on their Facebook complaining that they went two hours after the email was sent out and stuff was already sold out. But I went 8 hours after I got mine and didn’t have any trouble.

The Benefit – Fahrenheit Fab – Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow & Liner is wonderful! I typically don’t wear eye shadow on a daily basis (just eye liner and mascara, save eyeshadow for special occasions) but I made an exception to try this. I did use a bit of a Lise Watier Makeup Base For Eyes and Lips underneath and it lasted a good 12 hours with only very minimal creasing and wearing off. It is a very nice light gold shimmery colour – very beautiful and my favourite. Totally a colour I would pick out for myself. I normally don’t wear eye shadow because it creases and makes my eye lids feel gross but this stuff totally didn’t do that (maybe it was the combo with the eye primer) but it was great. I see myself wearing it often. The only thing that was a bit frustrating – there was nothing to apply it with, guess you are supposed to use your fingers. I would probably buy it again, just depends how long it lasts I guess. I don’t typically spend $19 on eye shadow but I have before.

The Yves Rocher Rouge Dragee Lipstick is really great too! I am not a lip stick girl but this stuff was nice. It went on nice, it was a great colour and it didn’t leave that gross lipstick smell/taste on your lips. It didn’t stay on that long but I still really liked it. And $5 regular price sounds great too – the last time I bought a regular lip stick it was $12! I could totally see myself buying this if I needed more.

I really like the Chi Silk Fusion – it makes my hair feel so nice and soft. I have often thought about buying it before but never have. I probably will at some point – if I ever use up my collection of hair oil products I already have on the go.

The Seattle’s Best Coffee Level Three was great too! The package provided made two smallerish pots and kept me going at work. There was also $1.00 off coupon in the box to buy more. I think I just might have to.

As for the perfume sample I haven’t decided if there is one I LOVE but I did enjoy a few. I probably wouldn’t buy any. I have a perfume allergy to some perfumes so I have to be careful. I really like light and fruity scents – they don’t seem to bother me. My absolute favourite is Eternity Summer (almost any year) and a close second is Lisa Watier Désirable. I also enjoy Ckin2u Her. Funny that I can wear Eternity Summer but any other Eternity leaves me with severe allergies all day. Anyway onto the Luxe Box fragrances.

The two Nina fragrances were in last months box. I really don’t like the Nina Ricci L’Air du Temps I put a bit on last month and it was all I could smell until I had a shower, it really bothered me and was happy to get it off so I didn’t try it again.

I did like both the Prada Candy and Nina Ricci Nina – I would wear the samples again but not sure I would buy them. I really liked the Paco Rabanne Lady Million when I first sprayed it on, but it quickly faded into something that was just alight.

I liked the Paco Rabanne Black XS for Her but found it was all I could smell all day and it left a bit of a tickle in a throat. Probably not one I would wear again. But the smell was nice until it started buging me.

The Prada Infusion d’Iris smelled alright, a bit indifferent to me and after 5 days of wearing different perfumes I think they are all starting to smell the same. I liked that this sample was full – it was the only full sample of the 6. The rest were half full or less. I didn’t like that is the only sample without a little spraying. It was tough to open and I even spilled a bit while being careful. And it was hard to apply. Defiantly prefer the little spray bottles.

I would say this month was DEFIANTLY worth it – I figure everything combined is worth around $45. And all I paid was $12! Sign up for next month’s Luxe Box HERE!

I am really looking forward to the February box. It should ship next week!

December Loose Button Luxe Box Review

At first I was pretty disappointed with this month’s Luxe Box, well I guess I still kind of am. At first glance it looks really great and full of nice size products and it is, but this is what got me.

The Moroccanoil stuff was to make up for sending out an expired product last month – that I am going to use anyway. It doesn’t really go bad.

From the email Loose Button sent out:

As a token of our appreciation and to compensate for any inconvenience this may have caused to you, we are sending you a Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray and a special something in your next box, as a replacement for the expired Hydrating Styling Cream.

It was nice to see a full size product in the box, but really it’s only a basic $4 eye liner. And two perfume samples? Did they really need to send two? These are like the ones you get free in the drug store. The face cream looks nice and according to a card in the box it is worth $41 for the sample size. To me it feels like all I really got was a $4 eye liner and a face cream (thought expensive!) since the Moroccanoil was a “bonus” for the screw up last month and the perfume samples are free most places.

December Loose Button Luxe Box Review

DDF Advanced Firming Cream 14g (full size 48g $140)
Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray 75ml (full size 300ml $24)
Moroccanoil Moisture Repair Shampoo 70ml (full size 240ml $22)
Moroccanoil Moisture Repair Conditioner 70ml (full size 240ml $21)
Nina Ricci L’Air du Temps Perfume 1.2ml (full size 50ml $72)
Nina Ricci Nina Fragrance 1.2ml (full size 50ml $65)
NYX Slim Eye Pencil Black full size 1g $4
Belgian Chocolate

The box was still nice, and I will keep my subscription (read a lot of people cancelling on Facebook) but it was a bit disappointing. After looking on their Facebook some people got worse and some people got a lot better – it seems like if you pay for a year in advance you get better boxes. Not sure what to think about that.

I think the November Luxe Box was actually better – I would of thought the special “Holiday Edition” box would had more “WOW” – maybe my expectations were too high? Probably.

I honestly haven’t tried anything for the November box, this one or my Glymm box yet! I need to get on that ASAP. Not sure what I am waiting for. The point is to try this stuff! I did smell it at least. The Moroccanoil stuff smells nice and the perfumes aren’t bad – like the Nina one better the other one is a little floral. And I do use black eye liner all the time – hopefully it goes on nice.

November Loose Button Luxe Box Review

I mentioned previously that I received my Luxe Box by Loose Button. I figured it is the last day of the month now and it should be safe to review without ruining any surprises for anyone.

November Luxe Box by Loose Button

This is the first Luxe Box I have revived and I LOVED it. Really impressed and look forward to receiving more. I also signed up for Glymm Box this month and will be receiving my first one of that next month. One quick note about Glymm Box, if you sign up using my link you get 100 bonus points and that is good for $10 off a full size product. You don’t have to use my link but I am mentioning because no one told me and I am sad that I missed out on my free $10!

November Loose Button Luxe Box Review

What’s Inside:

Lisa Watier Plumpissimo Le Gloss 1.1ml in Nude (full size: 6.2ml $20)
Dermalogica Skin Prep Scrub 22ml (full size 75ml $32)
Moroccanoil Styling Cream 75ml (full size 250ml $32)
Benefit Cosmetics B. Right! Moisture Prep Toning Lotion 8.9ml (full size 177.4ml $29)
BONUS: Teaopia Cactus Fig Tea Kit (full size 50g $7)

I have actually bought the Lisa Watier Plumpissimo Le Gloss in Nude before! It is an amazing lip gloss! The box was so cute and put together so nicely. I like how they personalize the boxes and I notice that people get different variations of the boxes. It is fun to see what everyone else got. The box includes a cute little card telling you about everything you got. So fun.

The Moroccanoil Styling Cream is expired but Moroccanoil and Loose Button are making up for it next month – it was so nice of them to send out an email to let us know. I actually haven’t tried anything in the box yet… not sure what I am waiting for, I better get on that because soon I am going to have TWO boxes!
