I really am lucky to live in such a beautiful place. After getting my FitBit a month ago I have been trying hard to get in my 10,000 steps a day. A good way to do that is to take a walk during my lunch break – here are some photos I snapped this week.
The weather has been totally bizarre the past couple days, lucky the rain/snow held off during my walks – but just barley. One second it’s snowing – the next it’s sunny and then raining, sun, snow, etc. All in a matter of a couple hours! I even saw a snowbow.
Also, in case anyone has noticed my blog does have a new look (for better or worse, I am not sure). One day last week I had to move my websites to a new web host. If you see anything funky or broken with my blog feel free to leave me a comment and let me know. I would really appreciate it. Thanks. :)
I braved the malls on boxing day mostly for one thing, Hallmark. I was there first thing to get dibs on all the half price keepsake ornaments. Even at 50% off they are still on the pricier side, but you have to indulged sometimes.
While I was out I did get a couple other things but I just wanted to share the decorations I picked up because I love them so much.
Laughing All The Way Hallmark Keepsake Ornament 2011
Look Who’s Pook-a-Looz! (Mickey Mouse) Hallmark Keepsake Ornament 2011
Santa’s Sweet Ride Hallmark Keepsake Ornament 2011
Play Family House Hallmark Keepsake Ornament 2011
1966 Batmobile Hallmark Keepsake Ornament 2011
Happiness Is A Warm Cookie (Peanuts) Hallmark Keepsake Ornament 2011
Hello, Snow! (Winnie The Pooh) Hallmark Keepsake Ornament 2011
As you can see I seriously have a problem with the Hallmark decorations. I may have went a bit overboard… may. I also bought Gizmo earlier in the year, happy I did because they were sold out on boxing day. Have also spent some time on eBay buying up a few of the Star Wars ships for my fiance. We really do have a pretty kick ass Christmas tree!
There is a couple more I have my eye on, but only if I can get them 75% off.
Other than Hallmark I picked up a few candles 75% off at Bath and Body Works – I love Bath and Body Works!
I bought this domain name – imonglue.com (incase there was any confusion) – back in 2007. I finally started it as a blog a year after that in 2007. I posted a dozen or so times ending sometime in 2009. I do this every time, I start a blog and give up shortly after. For over two years this website has sat here and collected internet dust. Until now that is…
I am bring imonglue.com back! At least I am going to attempt to anyway.
I did turn off all my old posts except for one. That one post is a hit in google and has over 300 comments. I figured I would leave for those that need to find it. Basically I put contact lens solution in eye, it burned like… well it burned really bad and I blogged about it. Other people make the same mistake, google and find my post. But really, is putting contact lens solution in your eye really a mistake? Seems like the a logical idea to me… anyway enough about that. Read the post for yourself and the comments if you are interested.
So what is this blog going to be… It is going to be more geared towards a personal blog. Though at this point I hope not too personal. I don’t really think the whole world needs to know about the intimate details of my life and if they do I feel this is neither the time nor the place. Although I am sure you will hear plenty of my antics and the stupid things I mange to do on an almost daily basis (at least weekly).
Maybe a random blog is a better description? Random not-too personal blog? A friend and I have recently started trying to learn to coupon (or attempting to) – IN CANADA – there are lots of sites out there to help people so I don’t plan to do that (it is nothing like in the US). But I do plan to share any cool deals I find (I LOVE deals), purchase I make, cool finds – random stuff and whatever I feel like. Cool websites, good food, neat products, nerdy stuff.. Who knows really. I can be pretty random half of the time and can’t seem to keep a blog updated for the life of me so we will see how this goes.
A bit about me… well I am 26 (as of right now) – I live in beautiful British Columbia, Canada – I love my 5 year old Boston Terrier with all my heart. I have a wonderful fiancé [recently and it was a TOTAL surprise]. I like to cook, eat, shop and everything in between. I am a “web designer” – I use that term loosely but it best describes what I do, even though it isn’t really what I do. More of a “web coder” who kind of knows how to make graphics – but that just sounds complicated and confusing. I am a geek – nerd – whatever you want to call me. I love most technology. I twitter too often and take too many photos. I love computers – comes with the job. I obviously love to ramble on [get used to it]. If you can’t tell from all the pink – I am a girl, if that matters to anyone.
This would have been information to know BEFORE it got in my eye.
Let me tell you that once it gets in your eye you panic; it BURNS like you wouldn’t believe.
I guess I should have read the bottle – you know the part that says “do no put in your eye, do not rinse your contact lens and then put it in your eye.” But it is contact lens solution – contacts go in your eye – you put the solution on the contacts that go in your eye – it seemed pretty straight forward to me. I mean seriously – how many people read directions these days?
AFTER – I remember reading the part (a couple months ago) about letting the lenses soak for a while before wearing them but I was in a rush, I needed to rinse my lens so without thinking I grabbed my Clear Care contact lens solutions, rinsed off my contact lens and shoved it back in my eye…. OMFG IT BURNED! I couldn’t even get my lens out of my eye it hurt so bad – after much swearing I managed to rip the contact lens out of my eye and fill my eye with Visine for Contacts – it pretty much then looked like someone had stabbed me in the eye.
At the time (being in a hurry) I didn’t even think to rinse my eye with water (because that would of made too much sense) so after my eye stopped burning I put my contact lens back in my eye and ran out of the door.
Where was I going? To get my passport photo taken of course! Let’s hope they don’t reject my passport photo because my eye looks weird. At least they took photo in black and white.
I seriously can not be the only person out there to make this mistake. Who reads directions these days? Especially on something like contact lens solution? I have been using solution for years and recently switch brands – my old brand was safe for my eyes! Or was it? I guess it wasn’t safe but I could put it in my eye without it buring!
Contact lens solution is DANGEROUS stuff. The stuff I used before: Complete All-in-One Moisture Plus – was RECALLED because it was causing infections in people’s eyes. Funny – a couple months before it was recalled my eyes were driving me nuts so I just started wearing my glasses more. Recalls, eye burning…. this is dangerous stuff for a very sensitive part!
Am I going crazy? After writing this my eye hurts again.
